PGR
Indole-3-Acetic Acid (IAA) 98% TC Powder
IAA 98% TC grade for formulators; formulate into SL/SP
Indole-3-Acetic Acid (IAA) 98% TC Powder, CAS 87-51-4, is the primary natural endogenous auxin PGR: it promotes cell elongation, differentiation and vascular development, and is used for rooting and transplant establishment. General foliar rate 10–20 mg/L; rooting soaks 20–50 mg/L. TC grade for formulators; formulate into SL/SP (IAA-K 2%/5% SP or 0.11% SL; pH 5.0–6.5; store away from light). MOQ 25 kg; lead time about 10 working days to Shanghai port; OEM and batch COA available; 24-month shelf life.

Key benefits
- Primary Endogenous Auxin Bioactivity: As the natural, fundamental endogenous auxin in plants, IAA directly regulates cell division, elongation, and tissue differentiation to drive overall plant growth.
- Stimulates Adventitious Root Initiation: Promotes rapid root formation and lateral root branching, significantly improving seedling survival, rooting of unrooted cuttings, and transplant establishment.
- Maintains Apical Dominance & Shoot Architecture: Controls bud development and stem growth, helping growers optimize canopy structure, apical growth, and vascular tissue differentiation.
- Enhances Fruit Set & Early Development: Stimulates ovary development, improves fruit setting rates, and prevents premature flower and young fruit drop across horticultural crops.
- Synergistic Formulation Compatibility: Blends seamlessly with Cytokinins (like 6-BA or Kinetin) and Gibberellins (GA3) in custom rooting powders, liquid tissue culture media, and biostimulant formulations.
Suggested dosage & application
For formulators
TC grade; formulate into SL/SP. IAA 98% TC is soluble in ethanol, methanol or acetone but poorly soluble in water — for direct water solubility, formulators often use potassium indole-3-acetate (IAA-K) in 2%/5% SP or 0.11% SL. Keep formulation pH 5.0–6.5 and protect from light. Every shipment includes a batch COA.
For direct field use
Rooting soak: 20–50 mg/L for 2–6 hours, or quick-dip 500–1,000 mg/L for 5–10 seconds. Bare-root transplant soak: 10–25 mg/L for 1–2 hours. General foliar rate: 10–20 mg/L.

Frequently asked questions
01What is the CAS number of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA)?
IAA has CAS number 87-51-4. We supply 98% technical grade (TC) powder with a batch COA for every shipment.
02What does IAA do, and at what rates is it used?
IAA is the primary natural endogenous auxin: it regulates growth comprehensively, promoting cell elongation, differentiation and vascular development. Typical rates: rooting soak 20–50 mg/L for 2–6 hours (or quick-dip 500–1000 mg/L for 5–10 seconds); transplant bare-root soak 10–25 mg/L for 1–2 hours; general foliar rate 10–20 mg/L.
03Is this a ready-to-use product or a technical-grade material?
It is a TC grade for formulators; formulate into SL/SP. IAA 98% TC is soluble in ethanol, methanol or acetone but poorly soluble in water — for direct water solubility, formulators often use potassium indole-3-acetate (IAA-K) in 2%/5% SP or 0.11% SL. Keep formulation pH 5.0–6.5.
04Any special handling for IAA?
Yes — IAA is highly sensitive to light and degrades rapidly in alkaline conditions. Formulations must use light-shielding packaging (black bottles or aluminum foil) and an acidic pH (5.0–6.5).
05What is the MOQ, lead time and shelf life?
MOQ is 25kg. Typical lead time is about 10 working days to Shanghai port; OEM packaging and batch COA are available. Shelf life is 24 months in the original sealed, light-proof packaging.
